Default Im a new owner of an 04 A6 2.7t with a bad Engine...

Hi.

As stated I have a vehicle with a bad engine and am wondering if any 2.7t Auto engine will work in the a6. I am thinking S4, RS4, All Road, etc..

Any one got some insights?

Thanks!

All will work but if you use one out of an S line car you will need the intake tubes for the turbos as the s lines run the bigger K04 turbos. Did you buy the one on ebay up near Detroit?

You mean S4. A6 S-line does not have K04.

No I didnt bid a friend of mine at work sent me the auction knowing I have rebuilt two A6 2.7t flood cars he was thinking about bidding but he has no mechanical knowledge and I told him the engine swap would be way more than he could handle.

That looked like a nice ride if you run into any electrical gremlins due to the flooding look me up I have gained lots of experience after rebuilding two of them and have lots of pics of what and where I found the issues.

Default Thanks

I'll keep that in mind. I do have access to All Data for the diagrams, so that should help. I also have experince diagnsoing wiring. I will be picking up a parts car that was hit in the front left. Should be plenty of good parts since it starts and runs.
