IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED - Installing stereo now
Saturday, November 17th, 2:21pm
I am attempting to install a new stereo. I tore apart the trunk, got the side panels off, and everthing was going smoothly. EXCEPT I can't get the radio out!!! The tools I got seem to work, except that one of the latches to get the radio out must be broken. It's not catching. I thought that if removed the center console I'd be able to get it out. I removed every screw I could find and I can't get the center console off either!!! It looks like I have to take the radio out in order to get the center console off. This is turning into a nightmare. Is there any other way to get the radio out? Or am I screwed?

RE: IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED - Installing stereo now
I had the same problem when I tried you take my old radio out. For mine it was the to top right side, and for some reason the tool doesn't seem to work well with that one. I tried different set of key and non of them worked. I ended up takinga screw driver that has an "L" shape at the end and pulled the face plate out. Once the face plate is out, I was able to force it out. I wouldn't recommend it.

RE: IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED - Installing stereo now
Being pissed off about the situation and a screwdriver took the face plate right off. [:@] My only concern is if I decide to sell the car, will I go through the trouble to take the new one out and put the stock one back in? Who knows.
