Default Installing a 21" Plate

I just bought a 21" German plate for my 1998 A6. I bought a license plate holder, but I don't really have any idea how to install it. From the pictures I've seen, it goes inbetween the air intakes and the grille, but do I have to drill holes in the front or what? There is no indent where the plate is supposed to go, also. I am not very mechanically inclined, as you can probably tell, but I would really like to mount it. Can anyone with experience help?

I bought an Altec mounting screws package for the plate too.

A nice piece of $2.99 industrial strength velcro works very nicely. It came with 2 pieces, so I stuck 1 on each end of the frame, about 4" from the end. It looks really nice and should be weatherproof.

For anyone who cares...

Industrial 3M double sided foam tape works perfectly for a nice flush finish, too. It is very strong and holds the plate very well.

You don't use the plate holder; you mount the plate directly to the bumper. Just be sure to measure perfectly (check your measurements twice) and be sure to have a steady hand when applying the plate. Once on, the plate will be on for a long time!
