Default instrument cluster problem

Hi I am new here and I have a 99 Audi a6. As I drove to work last night my instrument cluster let off a beep...I looked down and its showing "(O)". Anyone know what this means? I have also read that hot weather can cause the instrument clusters to have problems as well. I tried to search on here what this may mean and come up with nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's nothing wrong with the instrument cluster. Actually is working fine since the warnings (auditive and visual) work.

Your brake pads will soon need to be changed.
