i bought this 2003 audi a6 yesterday. i started the car and shift the automatic gear to drive.but it did not move the car on drive then i moved it to reverse to back up it moved on reverse. when i pushed the gear to the drive on the right side where they have + and - sign it jerked on reverse before it moved and when i shift it to the + and - sign area, it jerked on drive before it moved. pls. i need an help asap because i have not used this car before and i don't know anything about it.
So the car does not select and move when the gear is on drive but does when its on reverse/ when am backing up

I don't know what you paid but it sounds like your in big trouble and purchased a vehile with a bad transmission - read the following posts -
