My 1997 A6 has 141,000 miles on it.
I just bought my little brother a 1996 A6 as his first car from the original owner and it has 241,000 miles and runs amazing, passed emissions with no problems.

2000 Audi A6 2.7T 6-speed at 192,XXX. Runs great, turbos spool nicely, just got a compression test with less than a 5% variance in all cylinders. Just wish i got better mileage, but overall has treated me well.

2000 A6 2.7T with 158k miles and still running fine!
I'm planning on keeping it for 2 more years since I really like the ride then get a newer A6 or maybe A5!

I have a 1997 A6 quattro 2.8 that just hit 190,000 recently and have done nothing but a few light mods (led, stereo, and exhaust) plus the basics oil and liquid, brakes and tires, etc... and it's still running like a dream.
I also used to roll in my '98 Volvo S70 T5 that I got up to 260k!!! i had to sell it to buy my audi and ima put my audi higher than my volvo! only a couple more years of driving and i should be getting it up there!

75k miles change timing belt schedule may indicate subquality parts or designs. At least, the amount of work involved for a timing belt change or replacement indicate Audi had inferior design on this aspect.
Yea, you are right. Better sell it and buy a Toyota or a Honda.
Everyone knows they are Indestructable and trouble-free.

i got a 97 a6 quattro with almost 190k miles and still going strong the only real problems so far are cylinder misfire, one of the wheel bearings are bad some leaking, but engine and tranny still run good and most of the parts are still original

99 A6 2.8. It had 127K when I bought it now 132k. I think the timing belt was original (does anyone know the original part number?). I used the kit from www.blauparts.com. I rented their tools and replaced everything that comes with their premium kit. The instructions in their kit are great! It took most of the day, but nothing was really challenging. A couple of the body bolts and the crankshaft lock took some patience, but not too frustrating. The engine purrs, has no blow-by, and doesn't seem to use any oil. I did a tranny service too. The tranny pan was very clean considering the high miles. I hope to get 30-50k without anything major. I bought the car for $4200 and it has new tires and brakes. If something big breaks my downside is not too bad.

'01 2.7T Q, 117K miles, taking to local shop tomorrow for checkup (and to "interview" the shop, if you know what I mean).

This car runs beautifully! Seriously spoiled by the smooth ride...
