Hello people, recently bought myself a used A6 2.4 V6 and have found that the gearbox is very clunky and shifting is rather violent, as if you lift the clutch up too fast after shifting, all gears go in without a problem, no trouble getting them in at all, just near impossible to shift smoothly.

i have also noticed that when the engine is not running and you shift through gears its very loud but i am not sure if that is normal? louder than other cars that i have had.

i am planning on servicing the car in the next weeks with all new fluids etc but i don't really fancy throwing money away by replacing the gearbox oil and finding that it would need to be removed again through an internal gearbox problem that must be repaired.

any ideas? oh and just so you all know i have spent going on 2 weeks looking on all info i can find here and other sites so im not just being lazy and not using the search function before i get answers explaining the search function.
