I have a new 2013 A6 with 2500 mi. Several weeks ago I was experiencing a loud crashing sound, both while driving the car and while sitting at idle. At first I thought that something was wrong with the all wheel drive system. Another time the loud crash seemed to come from the top of the car. My wife and I thought that a large branch had fallen on top of the car. It was upsetting to say the least.

I immediately took it to the local Audi service Dept.. After two visits, and attempts to attribute it to the suspension, they discovered that there is a known problem with the sound system. Even with the radio turned off, the crashing sound could occur. They said that they applied a temporary fix to alleviate the problem, but Audi was working on a permanent repair to the problem, which might be available sometime in the future.

At least this is one problem that they were apparently able to solve.

 

That is good to know. I have 6500 miles on my A6. I have not experienced that crashing noise as of yet. At least Ill have an idea as to what it is.

 

I have a A6 2013 the bang was diagnosed as a hd radio issue. The fix was to disable the
HD. Never happened again. HD is worthless,google it.

 

Would you let me know what is HD?
