Angry MISFIRE cyl 2..Not plug, coil, or ICM...

My car is a 2001 A6 2.7t. I have a misfire on cylinder 2(seems to happen mostly after the car has warmed up for a while) that will go away sometimes for 2 days, or 2 minutes on and off. SOmetimes its to the point where I cant even accelerate. I just for the hell of it, after putting in new plugs, and checking the coil packs, swapped ICM's and the problem followed to cylinder 5. Thought it was solved, as the problem went away for about 2 weeks. Just came back again. I thought maybe the new ICM was bad so I put a new one in and no change. I'm baffled. I've also been driving around in the snow with no ABS or ESP, because I cant seem to get a brand new MAF to work(its the second one, right model , same as stock). Other codes I have are, MAF low input, insufficient cat warmup time, and an o2 sensor code for bank 1 also. The maf issue might be because when I changed the maf connector housing, 2 of the wires came out of the pins, and I had to splice them, but not sure. ANy help would be appreciated. Also checked for vacuum leaks and didnt seem to find any..

We had a problem with the MAF connector making intermittent contact. see post# 60 https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...-174154/page6/ The plastic was so brittle that some of the contacts broke off & didn't align & make contact when the connector was plugged to the MAF. Relatively easy & inexpensive fix to replace the plug. Might be related to your MAF problems. O2 sensor code may indicate time to change them. ABS problem likely due to bad connection in the Bosch 5.3 ABS module. Common problem. You can drive without ABS, as you already found out. Don't bother with trying to fix ABS module yourself, like I did. Silver epoxy doesn't hold. Send it out for repair (~$160.). If your misfire changed when swapping ICM, then that's the cause. Switch ICM again & see if it goes back to 2, if so...bingo.
