3.0 Plug and Coil change interval?
Should the plugs and coils be changed on the 3.0 every so often or just when its running rough?
Just got mine a few weeks ago and I dont want to say it runs rough but it has a bit of hesitation and at idle it could sound smoother.
So should I swap the plugs/coils out and hope that clears it up or just drive it and assume its the cam wore down a bit.
(Car has 200k on it)
searched and read a couple dozen threads on the subject and they all seem to be for cars running really rough where as this is just kinda annoying. Especially with the exhaust leak at the driver side flex pipe.

My 2.7T calls for plugs every 40k, but since I do mostly highway driving I change them closer to 60k. I have never replaced coils nor should they be needed unless there is a problem. I'd check air filter, gas filer, and MAF. Have Autozone pull the codes and see if there are any internally reported issues. Finally, don't expect perfection at 200k.

But I bought it so I could make it perfect, I'm into rehab projects...apparently so is my wife.
I have the vag software, so I'm all good there. Just looking for some 3.0 advice from people that know their tricks. I have only ever owned 1.8, 2.0s and tdi's

Possible there could be a recall on your coil packs. There was on mine when I purchased it recently. My mechanic checked with Audi when I was in for timing belt, and service right after purchase. Audi changed all of the coil packs no charge. Had 108,000 miles at the time. Just call your local Audi dealer service ask them to check, and give your VIN. Worth a shot. Mine is a 05 3.0 (b6) wasnt giving me any problems, but hell if its free, why not. A failed coil pack can leave you on the side of the road calling for a tow.

per the dealer the coil recall was performed May of 2010.
They couldnt tell me if the plugs were done at the same time, though they said they were changed at 48k
So it looks like I will do plugs/filters and go from there.
