Question MMI Issue

Had a coffee spill onto the MMI Console of my 2006 A6 3.2. As a result, next time I started the card, the console was dead but I could use the steering wheel controls for radio/sat control. So occasionally, the radio would come on and after approx 10 secs. would shut off and MMI screen blanks as well. No reboot, just stays off. Other times, the radio works fine, but the controls are dead.

So now, I've unplugged the MMI control unit - not easy to get to - but not impossible either and look to replace it or the circuit board since I cleaned out the keys but I am concerned that this won't entirely fix my problem as even though the MMI is now disconnected, I still get the intermittent radio symptom.

Anyone had any similar experiences or know if the MMI control unit will resolve this or not?

Related, based on some other posts I saw, I wonder if this could be fuse related also.
Loose fuse maybe? Anyone know what fuses control MMI instrument cluster /radio that I should check? I've seen a couple schematics online, none that match my config. No manual here and the side dash panel boxes seem a little less the complete with their descriptions.
