moon roof
Anyone have the issue about having the moon roof open when going more that 40mph, it makes a low tone beating type of noise if only the moon roof is wide open and all 4 windows are closed. Let me know everyones experience. My co worker has the same issue with his lexus but my honda civic and nissan pathfinder do not have this problem. is this a luxary car thing?

RE: moon roof
VERY common problem in virtually any modern car with highly aerodynamic design. Windtunnel testing is done with the car closed up and opening something disturbs that airflow, creating turbulence.
Here's a tip: Open the sunroof all the way and then close it by one or two clicks. Makes the problem go away if you get it right. Good luck.

Are any of the windows also open? I used to have a Rodeo where if the back windows were down while the front windows were up, I would get a horrible "turbulence". If I would simply roll any of my front windows down (even just a 1/2"), the turbulence would go away. This may be a similar issue.

Yeah like Southboro said; I know on mine there's a "comfort setting" where the "guage" around the **** stops then continues. Turn the **** to the place where it stops. You can also crack a window a little to help.

RE: moon roof
Yeah...Its a simple case of wind baffle. Just close the moonroof a few clicks or crack a front window to equalize the cabin pressure. I put a thule rack system on last week (big skiier) and the front fairing directs the wind over the rack bars for efficiency. I noticed that this directs the wind just enough to eliminate that ear pounding baffle. The auto parts stores sell those plastic fairings (1" tall) that mount to the front of the moonroof. They are ugly as hell, especially on an A6 but they are designed to eliminate the baffle. Good luck
