At dealership yesterday, for vehicle being hard to turn when at very slow speeds, but eases up when you accelerate. Thinking it may be the Power steerign pump they came back with the valve is messed up not leaking in steering rack to the tune of $2100 for the rack alone and $800 for the Power steering pump

so my question are there cheaper alternatives out there

it states two different racks for cars with or without Servotronic " I have no idea what this is and how do I determine if I have Servotronic it is a 2002 A6 3.0

i think all the cars in the u.s. came with servotronic and was an option overseas. i took mine out though. it basically a steering booster to make the steering lighter. i like the heavier, sportier feeling.
