New to Audi, 2003 A6?
Hello I'm new to Audi, I have a 1990 Mercedes 300ce, and recently purchased a 1991 Camaro. Anyway, I'm looking at a 2003 Audi A6 2.7t with 153,xxx miles, auto tranny. I've done a little bit of research so far but is there anything I should look out for? Especially one with 153k miles. The body looks perfect except a dent or two in the trunk. This dealer is asking $6,500 for it, is this a good price? Thanks.
I loved my 2003 - it was probably the nicest car I have ever owned. But I also over-did maintenance and it was running fine when I sold it last month with 240k for $350. The turbos had been leaking for 60k miles, the syncros were sticking, and the doors did not always latch properly. The body was also starting to show rust on the wheelwells and the lower doors. There were also a host of little problems that you live with or sell it: the temperature always flipped from F to C, the headlight washers never worked right, I replaced the cats but never eliminated the CEL, the fan whined at low speeds, the right passenger window would stick, and I only had one key (not the car's fault - blame spouse).
Having said all that, that's high mileage for a 13 year old car - caveat emptor.
