Default New here. Couple questions

I've been looking at some 00-01 A6's for daily drivers and have a couple questions. First, whats the difference between the 2.8 and 2.7t. I'm guessing the 2.7 is turbo. How big of a dfference is there? Also, do you guys prefer quattro or fwd?

Default RE: New here. Couple questions

The 2.7T is a biturbo (twin turbos) while the 2.8 is naturally aspirated. Of all the C5 (1998-2004) A6es, the 2.7T offered the highest performance (as measured by 0-60 performance) while the 2.8 offered the worst. As for quattro vs. FWD, it all depends what you want. If you want a nice car that gets better mileage in a mild climate, the FWD (only available with the less powerful engines) is nice. If you want performance and best-in-class winter (i.e., snow) handling, the quattro is the way to go.

Seeing as you're on an enthusiast forum, you can guess (given the above info) that people tend to prefer the 2.7T. If you're shopping, let me give you some great background reading to go through... Click on the "My Registry Page" link in my signature. Scroll down to "Suggested Readings." TONS of great info there for you to go through.

Good luck with your search.
