Default new OEM axle or reboot old Audi axle

The rubber housing the CV joint is about to break anytime (not yet!). Which route is better?
1) get a new aftermarket axle ~$120 + labor. I bet the new one is aftermarket, not even OEM..
2) take the audi axle and reboot. I rebooted about 40k miles ago.

The advice I found when trying to decide was that the existing axle is of the best quality i.e. German made and designed. Whereas if you replace it you won't necessarily know what you are getting....Chinese, Rebuild of unknown origin etc.etc.... Therefore I went for reboot.
