New rim/tire question
2003 A6 2.7T quattro 6spd, stock (sport) suspension, stock brakes
I woke up the other day to a completely flat tire. I have the stock 17x7.5" sport split-y wheels, with 234/45R17 tires. After putting on the spare this morning and driving to the tire place, I bought 4 new tires (was due for some new rubber anyways), and left them my car, about 2 hours later they call to say that I have 2 cracked rims. They were able to seal the tires enough to hold air, but I really need to replace them. I love the stock rims, but am kind of in a jam and do not want to pay over $600 for 2 rims.
I am looking at some 17x8 ET32 rims, will the brand new tires I just purchased fit, or should I go with a 17x7.5 ET35 rim, which is my second choice? I cannot find the stock ET, I think it would ET43 (per what I think is my rim on the ECS website #430023/8D0601025RZ17). These rims eventually will be my winter ones, once I either fix or replace the stocks.
I've been reading articles and threads online for hours, and its starting to make less and less sense to me, so sorry if this has been addressed already. It seems to be that I have to find someone with the same exact setup that has already gone thru this, if I can be so lucky.

I went with RS4 replica wheels (Chinese made, unfortunately) with the following specs and they fit perfectly, although they take a different bolt than stock. I am sure they are available in 17". I would check with your tire store to determine if the new tires will fit the 17x8 rims. There are also some websites where you can buy new and refurbished oem rims (google is your friend)...
