My 01 A6 2.7T indicates no oil temp and oil sensor light comes on. Sometimes when I start up I start to get a temp but a minute or so later it drops all the way down and I get an oil sensor light. Does the oil sensor control both of these? I checked the wires on the sensor and they all look good. Is this just a bad oil sensor or is it something else that would cause this? Thanks in advance for the help.

 

I believe both are controlled by the oil level sensor.
If you go ahead and replace this part, stick to oem as other brands, even german, do not always* work.
