over heating problem

Default over heating problem

yeah today when driving home i had the A.C on,it was like 92 degrees out,i noticed my coolent temp gauge rising not all the way to the H but very very close,so when i turn off the A.C the needle moved back in the middle.it only happens when i turn on the A.C
whats wrong with my baby?
also its a 1998 a6 2.8 with 139,xxx miles on her

check your belts and tensioners. The belt could be slipping and can't handle the extra load of the A/C compressor.

what condition is your mechanical fan in? Is your electric fan turning on?

I say double check that the E fan is turning on with the AC, if it is not and your AC condenser is adding all that extra heat smack dab against the rad, it would definitely raise the coolant temp.
