Unhappy P0101 error, black smoke, holds back

Hi.

I have a 2007 A6 C6 2.0tdi.
Today it has started holding back and throwing black smoke out the exhaust when i accelerate.
If you rev it gently it's fine but put your fut down and it misfires and smokes.
The computer shows P0101 which is MAF sensor but I am not convinced.
When cruising its fine and pulls well when the revs are high enough.

I have sourced a MAF but would welcome any suggestions???

Mant thanks.

Hi.

I sorted it out.

It was the EGR valve. The valve itself has snapped inside so was letting exhaust fumes through all the time, suffocating the engine until the revs got up.

The picture shows the problem. The black disc at the top of the photo is the vavle and should fit in the unit. Cost my about £140 from ebay and 40min to fit. Not a big job.

Hope this helps.

Hi guys many many thanks for all of your help after spending so much time and money it did turn out to be the egr a small pin was snapped i know somebody did suggest this to me earlier unfortunately i cannot find the post to let them know. I will aim to attach a picture of the specific part which only cost £60 second hand and as soon as it was replaced the car works wonders!!! Better than before!!
