Parking brake, traction control fault

Parking brake, traction control fault
My A6 keeps flashing a warning symbol on the brakes and telling me 'parking brake auto release fault' and then the traction control light comes on and it warns me that the ESP is off and drive to a garage carefully. but then everything stops and the car works fine, it does it now and again, could there be something seriously wrong or could the computer be going a bit haywire?
Thanks Jon

just bin driving home then and it happened again and this time the engine management light came on as well, and it felt like the power steering had gone, im going to take it back tomorrow, does anyone have any ideas of what it could be so i could tell them.

I had some similar lights going on - also, the cruise control stopped working and the ABS light would remain on. Turned out to be a relatively inexpensive brake switch sensor. Cost less than $100 including installation.
Hope it turns out to be something that simple for you.
