Default Parking brake malfunction/ABS/Traction Control Problems

Hello,

I have a 2005 Audi A6. It has the following problems: Parking brake, Traction Control, and ABS malfunctions. I brought it to the dealership and they diagnosed it as the following:

"Found fault for G201 Pressure Switch in ABS Hydraulic Unit. Checked values with MVB's and found switch is showing a default value of -40 Bar and does not respond. Switch is internal to unit, rec. replace ABS Unit Recommend replacement of ABS Control Module $2,700" (yikes!!)

Any suggestions? Is there an electronic solution to this without the replacement? Or is there somewhere I could send the ABS module to instead of getting a brand new one?

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help!

Tony

I have the same Audi A6 - same issue. When I put a code reader on the car nothing came up. Could it be the code reader isn't programmed for an Audi?

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim,

Thank you for your reply. I'm not sure if the computer was calibrated or not, I just brought it into the shop and thats what they said. Is your car doing that annoying beep every time you go over 10 mph? Did you have any luck fixing it? Or at the very least shutting off that obnoxious sound?

Thank you,

Tony

Default Try this..

Try looking at your multifunctional switch to your transmission. I just had mine go out and it has the same symptoms as yours the it stopped completely. I'm at the shop now having it replaced.
