Please Help: Air Conditioning Problem
Another problem with my 2000 2.7T while it hits 90K, the air conditioner doesn't seem to work well. There are 4 air registers in the front, 2 on the driver side that blows out warm air, while the other 2 on the passenger side blows out cool air (but not as cool as before). The fan still blows pretty strong. The end result is that the cabin doesn't get cooled down in this hot summer weather. Any idea what this could be?
BTW, I am about to get a mechanic friend coming over helping me replacing the timing belt, water pump, etc. Any thing else I can do while I am at the TB to help out the A/C issue?

I have a couple thoughts (ie guesses)
1. a door/damper is stuck and not directing the cold air to the drivers side.
2. the climate control is purposely sending warmer are to the drivers side due to some internal CC fault.
3. you have your driver side temp set to HI while the passenger side is set to LO. JK
A vag-com will help if you have any stored CC faults. You can also manually move the door/dampeners (although I don't know how). Stored CC faults will NOT set your check engine light. For the most part you won't know they're there.
I remember reading a long time ago about a way to manually diagnose the CC somehow without the use of a vag-com. But of course, that's all I remember about it.
edit: here is how you get there, but don't ask me what to do from there:
"The way to get there is quite simple. Press the recirculate button, keep it in, and simultaneously press the "up arrow" vent control. This will cause both the temperature displays to change to 0 and 00." JoeCaymanBWI

Jeffla - thanks a lot for the advice. I don't have a vag-com, so I tried the manual way and I DID get some diagnostic codes. According the article below,
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int5.shtml
code 1 displays any malfunction info, so when the display is like "C - 01", I got the code "1 - 25", which didn't match any DTC code in the above link. Does anyone know what a "1 - 25" mean? Thanks.
