Default possibly upgrading..

right now i have a '99 a6 2.8. it just isnt doing it for me right now. car is beautiful inside an out, but its too slow. im looking to either upgrade to a 2.7t, a 4.2, or even an s4. money is also a factor so i want to keep it under 10k, with around the same miles i got mine for, 87k. i paid 6800 with tax included for mine. any suggestions? maybe someone wants to buy mine too.

2.7 a6 is easy to find for under 8000 an s4 would be around 10+ you may find some cheaper and the 4.2 has some power but a 2.7 can take a 4.2 off the line :-)

hows the reliability on the 2.7? compared to my 2.8 of course. and also, i was possibly considering the pes g2 supercharger, though you think its worth the money? also how do you think the reliability of the engine changes with the sc? i dont want to shell out the money to be met with crazy repairs, so i want to know what im getting myself into.

well the 2.7 has turbos so another thing to worry about but i would say the 2.7 is a good motor but when it goes be prepared to spend some money.

The 2.7t engine itself is pretty solid, so if/when you replace the original turbos that will be your biggest repair bill, assuming you replace the TB in a timely manner of course.
Are you looking for a tip or 6 speed?

either doesnt really matter. i didnt go with a manual cause i live in a pretty congested city and it would be a pain in the ***. but either way is fine.
