Sorry for being ignorant but some terms but what exactly is a DV ?

DV is a diverter valve. Theres two on a 2.7T under the cover at the front of the engine. They get tired with age and Audi now have an uprated valve with higher spring pressure for better sealing. Part mumber ending in 710N rather than A on the previous part.

Thanks for all the help everyone, I am taking my car in today to the dealer and all this help enables me to have a better understanding about what to ask them to do to my car.

Preventitive maintenance = Change Fuel filter and Air filter. Only use Premium Fuel. I have a 4.2 and get about 22 on the freeway, sometimes more depending on the trip. We have 92 octane at $2.70 per gallon (Thank You Seattle[:'(]
You should get more than my V8
