Radio volume fluctuation
I have an 07 A6 4.2 with tech pkg etc. When I'm driving, the radio/cd, whatever will turn down. I mena, it's loud, and then it get's quieter, and stays that way, it's like someone's turning the volume down, it's not dependant on road noise, there is no navigation happening, nothing warning me of anything, no prompts. I noticed this in the dealers Q7 I drove as well. My girlfriend also noticed it as did my mom. Has anyone else had this issue? The dealer says to go in and verify the settings of the Bose surround system, but that's not the issue (although I've gone in and verified it's set to default and not changed). This is a little frustrating.
Thanks

RE: Radio volume fluctuation
Not really sure what you're describing here/asking (please try to be clearer), but you should be aware that there is a feature called GALA (graduated audio level adjustment or something like that) that automatically adjusts the volume based on the speed you're travelling. ANY car will have more ambient noise as speed goes up (wind noise, tire noise, etc.). To compensate for this, GALA increases the volume as speed goes up.
Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but it may play a role.

RE: Radio volume fluctuation
If GALA is indeed the case then just turn it off. Its the crappiest BOSE FEATURE EVER. They put BOSE in a lot of cars and every one I've owned (froma chevy lumina to a nissan maxima to 2 AUDI's) it has never worked right. My buddies Mazda XR8 has it to and it doesnt work right. He contacted BOSE direct and got them to admit that it has problems and shouldnt be relied on to adjust volume during driving. Mine works when it wants to, and that is rare indeed.
