Default Recommendations for Suspensions to lower

I'm running an A6 C6 on 18 inch rims and I'm looking to lower the car. I've heard coilovers are too hard and I don;t wnat to compromise ride comfort too much.

My needs/concerns for lowering are as follows:

1. Not too low as I don;t want to slow down to really slow for humps as that is one of the benefits the comfort suspension brings. Also, now without lowering, I can park head in at any car park without worrying about thrashing the lower tip of the front bumper.

2. Not overly stiff as again, I place some premium on ride comfort.

3. Street use only.

4. Concern : Will lowering the car and changing from the stock Monroe shocks take away the benefit of the comfort suspension?

Any other brands to consider?

1. Koni (who OEMs for KW I am told)?
2. Bilstein
3. H&R
4. KW
4. Others

Thanks in advance again to all.
