hey guys,
i just recently bought an 00 a6 4.2 about 2 weeks ago. i love the car, but i have already started having problems with the radio. i ran it thru the the car wash for the first time, and the radio cut out but the display stayed on as did the amp and subs. i thought maybe it was a fuse, so pulled the radio fuse from the fuse box and soon found out about the safe mode. of course the safety code was no where to be found, but eventually got it from the original dealership for free. they also told me the head unit had been replaced at least once already. anyway thhe code worked. now the radio/speakers will work for about 10-15 seconds then go quiet for 3-5 sec then it comes back. the power still stays on to the head unit and the subs still sound normal and dont cut out. the speakers still sound good when they re on, they dont crackle or anything.any ideas? hu amp? thanks,jim
