Default Removing catalytic converter on my 2001 a6 2.8

I would like to remove my cat and run straight pipes for performance purposes , is this possible on this model?

Default removing cat...

Yes, anything is possible. That being said, I ask, Why? It is illegal with a hefty fine if caught, it will not increase horsepower by gobs in a stock 2.8. Fuel efficiency will go up but your savings will not cover the fine even after 5 years.

Now that I have gotten off of my soap box:

Cut the pipe, hollow it out, install a spark plug non fouler between the pipe and the o2 sensor and put it back together.

Best of luck.

No, It takes about 1.5 hours per side to r&r the cat/downpipe without a lift.
