I have a 1999 A6.

I need to get under the shifter console to see if something has come loose. Feels like shifter is not connected. I can apply the brake and move the (automatic) shifter into R, N, D, 3, 2, 1, but does nothing. Feels like something may have broke. I need to get under the center console to look below the shifter (automatic).
Trying to remove console.
Anyone with knowledge on how to remove this and where to start? Thanks
