i have an 01 4.2, and i can not find any way other than removing the radio to get to the switch. Is removing the surrounding trim an option? I was under the impression that i could take the wood trip off from above the glovebox, but when i did that there was absolutely no way to get in.

I just checked the manuals and they didn't even include the radio code in case I need to take that out.
