Cool replacing front tie rod end

Hi there
Have to replace left front tie rod end. Any suggestions how? Help please,
I have to do wheel alignment but I was not able to because my left tie rod end is frozen. So they say that I have to replace it in order to do wheel alignment.

Thank you in advance Max

1. Remove old tie rod end.
2. Put new tie rod end in place with aprox. the same length as the old one
3. Take vehicle to the alignment shop.

Step #1 requires a wrench to remove the nut on the bottom and loosen the adjustment nuts. Then a good hammer (preferably brass) to knock the taper loose.
Step #2 does not require the use of the hammer.
Step #3 does not require the use of the hammer or wrench.

Max,

What does the shop mean when they say the tie rod end is "frozen"?

There is no way you could know if it is actually frozen, when you get a phone call from the shop. So, if you want you car aligned, and don't know better you just bought a new tie rod assembly, instead of them just using penetrating oil and some effort.
However, in places that use salt in the winter or that are near salt water, the corrosion may result in frozen fasteners, etc. So, the only way to know is to take the car home and try yourself to see if the tie rod threads are frozen even after soaking with penetrating oil for several days.
