Researching Brakes...
Hello fellow enthusiasts!
I've been checking brakes out, from pads to full big brake kits. In my endeavors I came across the Stasis web page and filled in the specs for my car to see what kinds of things they offered. Unfortunately, for 2002 A6 4.2 is not even listed next to the 2.7t. For kicks and giggles I rolled back the year to '01 and again to '03 and the 4.2 IS available for both years. Granted, the few upgrades available include a 355mm 6piston kit, but nothing for the '02. Has anyone put this kit on their 4.2 (any year) or had any reliable knowledge of this kit being used?
I know I'll be getting some new pads as the warning has come on. (Currently deployed and didn't havetime to get them changed before I left) Probably some HAWK pads and a set of SS lines to boot. I know it is quitea bit more for the Stasis kit, but I currently have a chunk of money stored up and other than a custom .308 bangstick anda Kimber 1911 I have nothing much else to spend it on!
Decreasing unsprung weight without increasingrotational mass would be helpful in improving fuel mileage and keeping the car lighter on her toes. I know this is minimal, but I'm also thinking of adding a set of light OZ wheels which, along with the lighter Stasis kit, would further help at the corners with this fat hog. Every little bit helps.
Thanks in advance for any input!
