folks, i have just bought a new audi and looking to sell a 96 Audi A6. I have had it serviced recently but still i am encountering engine RPM surge +-700 RPM when idling. In hot weather it will tend to lose all ability to idle and cut out altogether as the RPM keeps dropping back to 0. Does anyone have any idea what this issue could be?

could be caused by a lot of problems...
let a service center look at the problem...

 

have you cleaned the idle control valve?
