The secondary air inj is so that our cars will reduce the ensions on start up. They came on automatic cars only.

It activates for about 5 to 6 seconds and intermently while the car is in the worm up loop and them turns it self off. Dose not effect performance in any way. But I took mine off

It pumps oxygen into the exhaust during startup to speed up catalytic converter warm up times to reduce emmisions during cold start.

Baskin 4.2l,

How did you get your check engine light to remain off with the system out of the loop....... I live in North Texas (Dallas/Ft Worth) area and so long as the check engine light is on, our cars will not be able to pass the emmisions test here without first repairing what is causing the light to come on.

I know that both of my checkvalves (on each bank) are at fault, and they cost way too much for what they do, but if I could by-pass the whole secondary air injection system that would be GREAT!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
