should oil temp be steady @ 225?
More recently I have been noticing the oil temp get up another notch to about 250 during spirited driving.. of course it will recede after a few minutes and go back to 225.
Might sound like a dumb question but I'm just making sure, is that normal? Or maybe the oil cooler is giving out..? I always thought my oil temp stayed @ 225 but maybe I never paid enough attention
Car is a C5 2.8-30v

Oil Temp
OC_Audica,
It is normal for all fluid temps to rise when your car is driven hard, under more load and with increased revvs. As long as your temps stay in the normal range and drop once you've, "cooled down" everything is fine. I notice in my car that my oil temp also runs a bit higher in the summer months vs the winter, and also climbs a bit higher than usual when I drive it spiritedly. The changes I've seen are very small and expected when a car is driven hard, but never exceed the max ranges on my gauges.
