Default slipping clutch

CRAP! my clutch is starting to slip so I decided to call around to get prices on the labor to install one.One place said $1900.00 19rhs. in labor alone another place $1785.00! Can this be correct how can it take 17 hrs to do a clutch am I crazy or what?Worst case everythig has to come down exaust ect. maybe 8hrs.Does anyone know of a shop in lower NY that can do this job for a reasonable price???

16 hours is the factory labor just to pull out a 2.7T tranny (im assuming thats what you have) plus a couple for doing the clutch and flywheel. So that sounds about right.

Just had mine done for 1000 just labor and south bend clutch was 750. The book time is around 17 hours. Dubwerks in chicago will do the labor for 750.00.

Do you mind driving? I work at an Audi Dealership and a friend of mine just left the Porsche side here (he's a certified Porsche/Audi mechanic) to start his own dealings just doing private work for friends and family. If you would like, I bet we can get the clutch done including all parts for a price like that. Let me know if your interested, we're up in southern NH. A bit of a drive I know.

I had an AWE stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel installed. Labor was 9 hours at $75. But sw Michigan is a long way from NY.

Hey thanks for all the replys I just got back I was out of town with no email........So I guess most places are going to try to charg the full book time to do the job huh!Driving to NH might not be such a bad idea still might be worth it?????So should I pick up a south bend clutch and have it installed or let the repair shop pick it up so they warranty it?

Well I found a shop willing to do the labor for about $700.00 if I supply the parts not bad much better than $1700.00. I decided to go with the southbend ralley kit figured that would do the trick so what do you all think about that clutch kit?
