Default Started my TB job a little while ago, need a little help!

Well so far so good, I go the front bumper off and unhitched everything so I can swing out the lock carrier. only 1 problem, it just comes right off! How do I get this sucker into the service position? I've searched but I cannot find the answer. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Well it seems that I use the long 8M bolts from the bumper removal and thread that into the front of the lock carrier and slid the carrier out onto the bolts. Sound right? The write up I had seen showed the whole carrier swing over to the right which exposed to whole front of the engine. That is what I was hoping to be able to do.

I found that by disconnecting the trans cooler hose from the radiator, I could swing the lock carrier to the right and get it sufficiently out of the way. Make sure that sucker is seated all the way in before restarting the car!!!!

Thanks for the info Bob! Is it alright to disconnect the trans lines? will they leak or will I need to plug them?

The top one did not leak while disconnected. I didn't disconnect the bottom one precisely because I thought it would leak. You will need two plugs: a plug for the radiator and a cap for the line. If you do it, have a quart of trans fluid at the ready! Then, let us know how it goes.
