Default stock radio removal help

i bought the Schosche brand keys from Wal-Mart and i still can't get the stock radio out. the passenger side of the radio popped out no problem, but the other side won't budge. the key just keeps popping out. i can hear them 'click' into place, but the driver's side of the radio just seems to be stuck or something. can someone tell me how to remove all of the trim surrounding the radio? i'm wondering if it's actually bolted in on that side. i don't know what else to think.

any tips? maybe there is a better brand of removal keys out there?

Unless the 2.7 is radically different than the 2.8 it should be just the keys. I had to work mine quite a bit to get the thing out but it did come out. Don't try prying on any of the panels as you will probably just end up nicking them up. Make sure all 4 keys are oriented properly and it should pull out.

Definitely need 4 keys. Two on the top and two on the bottom.

This picture should help you locate the slots for the radio keys:

Once the keys are clicked into place, insert a few fingers into the cassette slot and pull from there. Do not pull the radio keys themselves...you risk bending one of the clips and making it even MORE difficult to remove the radio.

To re-install the headunit, remove the keys first, then just slide the unit back into place and make sure all 4 clips click into place. To remove the keys, press the locking clip from the side to release the groove in the key:

Hope this helps!
