Exclamation Thick layers of black soot in exhaust pipes

Hi, I am having a 6+months (12,000km) old Audi A6 2.0T FSI. As I was cleaning the car today, I found a thick layer of black soot in the exhaust pipes. Is this normal? I don't recall seen this in my previous cars. Thanks in advance for your input.

Perhaps you have 2.0tdi?
Just kidding!
Look around for oil leaks-consumption issues with 2.0
Are you under warranty=> use it!

Thanks Nemohm.

The model is 2.0T but the FSI is written on the engine block together with the 2.0T.

This is my first continental car, all my previous cars were Japanese.

When I picked up the car from the show room, the Audi sales told me I would need to add a quart of motor oil before the first scheduled service at 15,000 KM. Are these true for Audi, oil change 15,000KM and need to add motor oil before first service? However, they also mentioned there is no need to add motor oil after the first service.
