So I am thinking of purchasing this A6 with 112,000 miles on it and I need to know what the mechanic should specifically look at when I take it to the shop for an inspection. I have never owned an Audi before so please bear with me. The car is a bank repo and I plan on getting a carfax to check the title etc. However I have been reading thru some of the threads and notices that this year may have transmission issues and some other smaller things that need attention. Can anyone give me any pointers toward this potential purchase.

You need to find a mechanic that specifically knows Audi's because there is a lot to look for.

Ask for maintenance records.

The timing belt is due to be replaced and misc broken other crap. You'll end up putting 3K into it this year performing maintenance and minor repairs.
