Default Thinking of buying a 2003 A6 4.2

I am looking at buying a 2003 A6 4.2 with 50k miles and was wondering if there's anything specific that I should be looking out for with this particular model. Also, does anyone have any reccommendations for companies that offer extended warranties?

thanks,
Micah

I got mine with 43K miles and it was like new. I had a few repairs done under warranty and have come out of pocket on a few ($2K) since. I have 70K on it now and it still runs like a dream. There are many posts here regarding the features and benefits of this car. In my oppinion, it's one of the best looking Audis made. (only my opinion, OK?) I run synthetic oil in it and run a fuel cleaner through it every once in a while as that model has a slight rep. for faulty fuel sensors. It keeps it in check. V8 power is strong, handling is excellent and look is tip top. Awesome car overall. If you can get sport and lux packages on it, do it. I put 18's on mine and they fil out the flared wheel wells nicely.
