Timming belt!

Timming belt!
My car has past the 90m line, and i want to change the timing belt, i just dont know what to buy, i want to buy the parts myself and let a friend of mine who is a mechanic change it, alot cheaper than going to the dealer. this is what a audi tech said (When you replace the timing belt, you should always replace the timing belt idle pulley, tensioner pulley, water pump (because if you replaced the water pump later, you need to remove the timing belt, so this is more cost efficient) and serpentine belt if it hasn't already been replaced)!
So would this do it?
Kit Includes: 1)078 109 243R Tensioning Roller 1)078 109 487A Tensioning Lever 1)078 109 479E Tensioning Damper 1)078 109 119J Timing Belt (253 Tooth) 1)078 109 244H Relay Roller 1)N 014 717 6 8X40mm Hex Socket Head Self Locking Bolt (Torque 7.4 ft lbs.)
thankful for any answers!

RE: Timming belt!
Noticed you live in Michigan. In-tune Imports in Holland MI does an outstanding job and has performed all the work on my Audi, including the timing belt. I believe they charge 6 hours at @ $75/hr. Well worth it because they have to pull the front end off and carefully bolt the two camshafts together so the timing does not slip. This is an interference engine, and if the timing is off the pistons and valves clash.

To liqu1d: ppgoal is right. For V engines (AAH, ABC, etc.) you have to have a special tool to line up crankshafts (looks like a metal bar with four pins). If you have it, then ELSA has a pretty well description for changing the belt.

RE: Timming belt!
hey there, i jus did a major service and timing belt on 276 000km and took the same route of replacing the belt, tensioner ,water pump on the 2.6, i rather stick to the specialists when it comes to getting the timing factors right.
