Default tranny re-mapped

So, in for service because the adaptive tranny was acting funny. The 2001-02 are not like the newer A6's that have a multi adaptive tranny for multiple drivers. So, the lady that owned it before me was a feather foot. The only was to have the tranny adapt to my lead foot is to reset the software. Wow, what a differnec immediately. No thinking between gears, real responsive. It will tak a full 2 weeks for the adaptive state to be complete. Only cost 1 hour of sservice time. Just an FYI for those of you with tranny hesitations.

Drive it. It will relearn. You can also try erasing the faults in the tcm. Erase even if there arent any.

How much did that reset cost you at the dealership? Did you buy your car certified or private seller? Does Audi just do this to all its certified preowned vehicles???
