Absolutly -- VAG Com tells you the tran oil temp --If I remember correctly it should not drip at 65C and it should drip at 70C -- AND the vehicle must be level AND you MUST use the correct fluid. I might be off on the temperatures but the 5C makes a difference - it was magic - one temp and everything is dry and 5 C later it drips. You'll have to search for the correct VAGCOM measuring block to see the trans temp. It is not obvious...

Almost forgot - don't open the plug with the motor off. - the oil just pours out.
