So had the wonderful A6 about 5 months now and love it.
But have noticed a little something.

Seems like at times when you pull away from a dead stop there is a delay to the car moving ... as in I press the gas pedal and the trans does not engage/go right away. It does not jerk once it does, just takes a little extra time.

Car has 112,xxx miles. Not sure of previous owner maintenance.

I've read a ton of the transmission posts here in the forum.

So, is this the transmission slipping?

 

If your RPM are going up and there NO response or movement that means your tranny is slipping.

Scan the tranny for codes, if no codes, change the fluid.

 

Is this occurring from a rolling stop? Or a complete 100% dead stop?

Does the 06 model use drive by wire throttle?? Many cars using that system, not only Audi, have slow gas pedal to throttle response. In most cases is how the factory set up the system (press on the gas pedal and a little later the ECM tells the throttle to move) Some brands issued service bulletin to reflashed the ECM if the customer complained.

 

Yeah, PRMs do go up--not huge, but they do.
I'll have to get a hold of a Vagcom and scan for codes.

 

Z28Pete, not sure with the Audi. But I know what your speaking about. My Envoy was that way. When I had the PCM performance flashed that "lag" went away. May that thing would go then. LOL
