i'd give them a call, but it's strange; there is no contact information on their web site. doesn't look very promising unless i'm missing something.

Wow, wow, and wow. You have my sympathy. I thought $2600 for a stage 2 clutch and flywheel was bad enough back in 2007. Glad I don't have a tip.

My family had two Audi A8's, a '97 and '01 both with the ZF transmissions and one with 110k miles and the other with 130k both needed rebuilds done. The '97 just stopped one day in limp mode and the '01 drove but had slippage from 1st to 2nd gear. So we decided to have a shop rebuild it. We thought that a person who knows trannies will be able to do it without a problem but one thing let to another and the price went from $2000 to rebuild to $2900, The rebuild kit doesnt come with all the internals so if your audi is one of the lucky ones like ours was then you might need additional parts. One of the things that was wrong with ours is not the friction plates or the gears but there is a hub of some sort that under pressure tells the tranny to switch from 1st to 2nd and that was the part that was bad in our tranny. Its supposed to spin one way freely and not spin at all in the opposite way. Well the bad one that we had spun both ways and that was causing our tranny to slip when switching from 1st to 2nd. But we had everything rebuilt since it was all takin apart. The only issue that we have right now is that we thing the mechanic put too much oil in it and it leaks oil from the air vent on top of the tranny when its in motion. So these trannies are just a pain in the rear, if you ask me. But wonderful when they work good lol
