now when i press the button from inside or from the key remote, does the trunk release. i went to the trunk and put my eat against the trunk and pressed the button on the remote, and i did hear some noise. though nothign happens. What can be wrong?

 

It is supposed to unlatch, but the trunk lid still has to be physically lifted. If neither your remote button or the one on the driver door jamb do nothing, then check all fuses. The trunk should make the same sound as when you press the release under the lip of the decklid.

 

On my 08 A6, when you push the trunk button on the fob, it doesnt open a little bit like some cars do, it just unlock, you still have to open it.
