turbo replacement

does the engine need to be dropped to replace the turbos in a A6 2.7T?

Just got the A6 2.7T. At what mileage does this typically need to be done / or when do they blow? Mine has 75K on it. Thanks in advance for any insight.

To many factors to say for sure. Was the car beat or babied previously? Oil changed regularly(hopefully before the recommended 10k) or not so often. Usually after 100k thou.
