I have a 98 A6 Quattro auto trans with a right front turn indicator not functioning. Right rear turn indicator is functioning, but with a fast flash rate. Left side turn indicators are normal and operational. I replaced front right turn indicator bulb and it is still not operating. Could this be a relay that needs replacement? I was unable to remove stubborn headlight harness connector to check bulb contacts. Would a bad connection at turn indicator cause a rapid flash rate on the right indicator. I am thinking relay failure and replacement. TIA

 

Have you checked the signal indicator that's mounted on the right front fender?

 

Yes I have the right side fender mount signal indicator works and flashes at a fast rate just like the right rear signal indicator.
